Good morning, happy bank holiday Monday!
Well what have you all got planned for this lovely bank holiday? (The last one now until Christmas). I am sorting out my spare room today as my nieces are coming to stay for a couple of days this week, I have the whole week off work and they love to come over and be spoilt rotten! Not so sure my sister likes it so much!!

Made a card yesterday morning for OH's sister who has recently moved into her new home in Plymouth.

The birdcage is a free svg file from here I used it with SCAL and my cricut expression, the card is just under 6" square so I cut the cage at 3" width and selected keep proportions so it does the rest automatically. The little bird is also cut using SCAL and cricut expression, this was not a free download SVG I bought this one from the Hydrid Chick. Flowers Xcut punch and leaves Martha stewart punch. The backing paper is from DCWV wedding stach and is a white pearl with a very pale green/blue pattern which matches perfectly with the little scrap of ribbon I found in my stash. I added some pearls to the flowers and one for the birds eye to complete the card.

Actually putting this card together took just minutes, but I got a bit carried away when I was looking online

for the birdcage SVG file and downloaded a lot more, I jsut couldn't stop looking and was probably in my carft room for 3 hours or more!! Oh thinks cards take that long to make lol!!

Wedding cards

Last Saturday (20th August) was the fantastic wedding of Helen and James. Congratulations guys and thanks for an amazing day!!

My gorgeous nieces were three of her bridesmaids:

And they were absolutely stunning!!

I made two cards for this wedding one from myself and Steve:

Quite simple layered white card, with pearl silver patterned card from a wedding stack by DCWV. The scalloped layers are silver pearl vellum from the papermill cut with an x-cut border punch. Ribbon, slider and gems from stash.

And one from my Sister, Brother-in law and the girls:

My sister said she didn't want anything specific written on the front, so I decided to put nothing on this one as I thought I could do without it to be honest. I used forever friends embossing folder for the oval, hearts cut on cricut, ribbon and pearls from my stash mountain!

I am now on holiday for a few days and hoping for some nice weather, my nieces are coming to stay next week for a couple of days and it would be nice to be able to go off to the coast with them for a day, we are also thinking about a trip over to Lundy Island as we planned to last year but when we intended to go the weather wasn't too good. Guess we will have to wait and see what is in store. Hope to get some crafting in too so watch this space!

Minnie Mouse

Yesterday was my beautiful little nice Matilda's 3rd birthday, after a fantastic day at a wedding on Saturday I had to get up early to make her a card. I am terrible I know I need to do these things but always leave them until the last minute.

Well she is currently crazy about mickey and Minnie Mouse so I decided on that as a theme. I foudn a free SVG file here, I used this with my cricut expression and SCAL software. Papers are from a free download but I am sorry I am not sure where I got these ones.

Decorated on all sides, I didn't take a picture of the back but it just had co-ordinating paper and handmade by on it.

Ribbon gems etc from my stash.

I hope you like this one as much as I enjoyed making it!

Horse Hugs

Evening everyone!

What a beautiful day today down here in Devon. It's amazing how the sun makes us all feel so much happier!!
Here is a card I am really pleased with, I made it for my friends daughter Molly, who is now 10. She loves horses and riding, her present from her Mum and Dad was a week at riding school last week it really is what she loves.

I have deliberately left it with no sentiment or personalisation as I know she likes to keep them up in her room when I make her horse cards.

The stamp is from a Kanban set bought from crafty devils on a recent trip. Coloured with pro markers, green paper from a digi kit, pink spotty/floral paper from and K&Co 5x7 pad. Everything else from stash with punched flowers.

I had a surprise today when I went into a lovely little shop in a local town and saw some handmade cards on a carousel. This shop sells lots of Emma Bridgewater and Gisella Graham items (very lovely things!!). The cards weren't a surprise but the price of them. Small cards prob 5x5" very simple one stamped image no colouring a bit of matting and layering £4.95. Now there was nothing wrong with the card I would be pleased to sell it but I think i would only charge someone £1 for a card of the same type. Totally amazed, wonder if they sell many?

Burlesque 30th Birthday

This card was requested by one of my colleagues, for a friend of hers who is into the whole burlesue theme. It is so far out of my comfort zone I found it amazingly hard! Thanks to all the lovely ladies who answered my plea for images on the Do Crafts forum. I had some lovely images suggested but just couldn't find my mojo until I saw this image on the net.

Image printed, backing paper is from a christmas stack, it has a lovely glittered effect. ribbon and gems added with a cricut cut 30.

The lad who asked me to make this was really pleased with it which was a hge relief for me, as I can't say I was too pleased with it myself!

A catch up

Well a long time again for me, so far this year has been hectic to say the least. But things are settling down very nicely now and I am back in my craft room more so have promised myself I will be keeping up with all the things I need to make, and ......blogging more regularly!!

I thought I would start with a quick catch up of what i have made since my last post in early June:

Quite a variety of different themes and this really is it for the past few weeks, terrible!!!!

I made the little montage using photo scape software which I downloaded free to add a watermark to my card pics when posting on blog or Do Crafts gallery. It was recommended by someone over there (I am sorry I can't recall who it was). You can get it here, it is very user friendly software and I think there is much more I could do but have only used it a couple of times.

Oh my it happened again, no posts for a loooooooong time!!! I ha a very busy few weeks with work and am now having a week off to catch up with myself at home. See some friends and family and do some much needed crafting, not sure how much I will fit in but going to give it all a go!.

I made this card early one morning last week as Jim who was working with us for a few weeks over the very busy time, had to leave due to the end of his contract. He was a fab man who none of us wanted to let go, the ladies who I work with wanted to give him a card and leaving present so I was up at 6 to make this one. He loved it and the bottle of Gin we gave him lol.

Harriet is 9

How time flies, my oldest niece was 9 on Sunday. Bless her she wanted to come to a wedding fair with me on her birthday and then go shopping in the afternoon to spend the money we all gave her, she went o next to buy clothes, acessorize and Claire's accessories to buy jewellery etc.. she is so grown up it is scary!!!

Made two cards for her, one from me and one from my Mum and Dad.

This is the one I made for Mum and Dad to give her:

All papers Pink Petticoat, nesstie circles, number cut on cricut, handcut bunting, punched flowers and leaves, stamped Granddaughter from papermania family stamp set, pearls, gems and ribbons from stash.

This is the one I made from Myself and Steve:

This one is 8x8, digi image cupcake Kiki from CC Designs coloured with pro-markers. Dark purple card, layered with an embossed card front (I bought some pre-embossed 8x8 cards but the quality of the card is so rubbish I have been cutting them up and doing this with them. Buttons ribbon etc from stash. This card looks better IRL but I couldn't seem to pick up the colours when I took the pics

Valentine Card 2011

Made this one for my Fiance for valentines day, I saw a card in M&S which had lots of black and white robots on and one with colour saying "you're the one" I loved it but I couldn't bring myself to buy it. So I set about getting digi images and found this one at pollycraft. Paula had a card which I have almost plagiarised to make this one (Thanks Paula if you ever see this!!).

It's an 8" 8" card, matted and layered white and a pearlescent dark grey with the robot paper which I got from acherryontop, coloured with promarkers, sentiment computer generated, cogs punched and cut with nesties from black card.

Pink and Girly Caravan

Made this for my sister's birthday she loves her holidays with her husband and 3 little girls in their pride and joy caravan.

All papers pink petticoat vintage rose, caravan cut from Anna Marie design template, punched borders flowers and butterflies, brads on door and wheel, wire shaped for towing hook. Doodlebug paper frills, ribbon and gems.

I love these templates they are so easy to use, I have a couple more which I am working on cards with and will share with you when complete.

Metalic Madness

Good evening, I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend! The weather hasn't been great here in Devon but it could have been much worse for most of it I guess!
I have had a fab weekend to top off a week off work, I am now not looking forward to going back to the office tomorrow, but it must be done.

I had a great afternoon in my craft room today whilst my OH recovered from a bit too much drink last night lol!! I have no sympathy as I get none, I just take advantage of the peace and quiet and head for my room.

This is one of the cards I have made today, others not yet totally complete so I will save them for another day. The adorable little robot is a digi from pink cat studio. I printed him on silver card, and then clear embossed him as the ink was very wet, when heated the black colour vanished and left a shimmer outline, which I quite liked. I didn't intend for this to be quite such a metalic card but I think it worked out ok!

This little fella is for my godson Cameron who will be 6 on Tuesday. Not too great with boys cards so I hope this one will be OK for a 6 year old?

21st Birthday card made for a colleague, he's not been with us long and as he is so much younger than the rest of us (mostly women poor lad!!) I kept it simple as I know he loves sport but not much else about him outside of the office.

Card from my huge stock, background embossed using martha stewart board, circles cut with nesties and cuttlebug, stars from stash, numbers cut with cricut. chalked edges to soften them. This is an 8x8 size which I love but also because we are all going to sign it so I wanted to have plenty of room in there.

Time Flies

Wow once again it has been a long time since I blogged!! was a bit of a shock to see the last time was1st November!!

So much has happened since I have not been here. My biggest most exciting thing is that, I got engaged to my boyfriend of 10 years. He surprised me on my Birthday in November, he had planned it all, bought a ring, and been to ask my Dad's permission. I thought we weren't going to get married after all this time together and was quite happy with that, but am also happy that we are going to. Things have been busy so we haven't yet made any plans, but we intend to get married next year.

Have made quite a lot of cards over the past few months so I will just share a few of them with you now.

Fiance Christmas card:

Really bad picture - sorry about that, card is now packed away so I can't take another one!!

Digi stamp boutique image, coloured with Pro markers, sentiment computer generated, ribbon slide recycled from wedding place name cards at a friends wedding last year. I am like a magpie when it comes to things like this I just have to take them home and re-use them lol.
Backing paper is from a stack which lost the cover for so I am not sure who it is by, I think it may have been MME? Ribbon and small pearls from stash.

New Baby boy

Very quick card made one evening for a colleague who's wife had a baby boy, image from digital delights, coloured with pro markers, backing paper was from a box of paper I picked up in a local charity shop. Boy stamp also from a charity shop box and I'm sorry I don't know where it is from as there was no packaging.

This was Harriet my oldest nieces Christmas card, tree and robbins image Pink Petticoat coloured with pro markers. Skating girl Lily ice skating from Pink Cat studio, again coloured with pro markers, oval cut with nesties and covered with glossy accents to give and icy effect, I also added a little glamour dust for sparkle. Backing paper dovecraft christmas glitter stack. This is a 8 x 8 card which is my fav size at the moment!!

This one was for my middle niece Olivia, she LOVES sweets so when I saw this little lady over at Pink Cat studio I knew she was the one. Coloured her with pro markers and added glamour dust.

Backing paper Papermania Pepers Christmas house stack, little candy cane button was one of many I picked up at Westpoint craft show last year, but sorry I don't know the company name. Ribbon and gems from stash, snowflake cut with a Marianne design die using cuttlebug.

Final one for today was for my little niece Matilda, she loves swings and it is a fight to get her off them whenever we go to the park. Again I found this little image at Pink Cat studio, coloured her with pro markers. Ribbon and candy cane from stash, backing paper from Dovecraft 8x8 Christmas stack.

Halloween Treats

Two posts in one evening hmm unusual!!

As mentioned in previous post I made Hello Kitty Halloween treat bags for my nieces, Harriet, Olivia and Matilda.

Of course can't just do one, has to be one each so here are the three of them.

Sweets were from the M&S Halloween range, a5 cello bags, paper from free download. Pic doesn't show it unfortunately but I added purple glitter to the bottom of the bats wings (I glued the wrong side of one when putting then together so the glitter was to cover up the mistake, actually turned out well!)

Hello Kitty

Good evening all!!!

Got a card to show you which I did at the end of last week for my darling niece Olivia's birthday which was on Saturday. She had a stuffy bear party which was lots of fun for all. Each child chooses a cuddly toy 'skin' then stuffs them, puts in a wish star, seals them names them and makes a birth certificate.

Olivia chose a pink rabbit 'Daisy' and here she is:

Well that was Saturdays birthday fun followed by a trip to Pizza hut, when I asked her why Pizza hut she said "well they give you good colouring" lol I thought it was for the ice cream!

I made her this card as she and her two sisters are all Hello Kitty crazy as you will have seen when I have made them cards in the past. I bought the Hello Kitty greetings cartridge for my cricut expression, I thought as they love her so much I would be able to get plenty of use out of it.

This is an 8x8" card, spotty paper is from free download, kitty is cut at 6", it took me ages to put her together!

Also cut letters and flowers for the inside from the same cartridge.

Off to sort some more pics, as I also have a Halloween hello kitty project to share with you.

Another Christmas wreath

After making the card in my last post I decided to play around with my punches. This card is what I came up with.

Again I started with a 6x" square card blank, added a kraft card front leaving a small white edge, some faux stitching. Leaves built up a wreath and some snowflakes added to embelish, each one with a small pearl centre. Punched border strip again on bottom with a strip of ribbon attached. Happy Chirstmas stamped in centre of wreath, not sure what the stamp is a sit was one of many I got in a box full from the charity shop.

It looks better in 'real life' lol not happy with these pics!

Christmas Two Step bird

Good evening!

Had a couple of busy days at work as I am not in again until next Wednesday now but have been dying to post this card as I am so chuffed with it.

I do love my Stampin up two step bird punch and want to try and use it for all kinds of cards. I noticed a lovely card whilst blog hoping a while back and decided this week to make something similar you can find the original here - http://annscreativemoments.com/ . Ann if you see this thanks for being the inspiration for this card and for having so much more inspiration in your blog, I hope you don't mind me recreating this!!

I have a close up of the wreath with the bird on too.

I started with a square 6x6" blank card, drew a very faint pencil circle in the centre (I drew around the lid of a small storage jar). Punched lots of leaves with the two step punch, I punched these from a piece of stripe green MME paper from bloom and grow stack. Punched a bird from Kraft card, and some very small red circles. Built up a wreath with the leaves, gluing them around the circle. Sat the bird in the leaves, added the red dots as berries and a red spotty ribbon. Punched borders added to the bottom of the card.

I am not adding a sentiment to this one as I like it as it is.

Ruby wedding invitations

Good morning everyone, hope you are all enjoying your Saturday morning, the weather is lovely here in Devon bit chilly but pleasant. I can't believe I am actually able to take 5 minutes to post this as I am looking after my sisters 3 girls this morning. The two older ones have taken themselves off to play Mario Kart on the Wii and the little one has been sat very quietly watching cbeebies for ages. I wonder how much longer this quiet will go on?

My Mum and Dad have been married 40 years on 14th November and have decided they would like to celebrate so asked if I could make them some invitations. They both love birds and Mum is into simple looking cards so I came up with this for them.

The birds are papermania Christmas embossing folder, matted and layered on red card, added the hearts and ribbon then Mum said she would like them to have 40 on them so I cut 1/2" ones on the cricut expression and stuck to the bottom corner. Made 25 of these in total, they are not having a big party just a lunch on the actual day which happens to fall on a Sunday this year so is perfect. Having everyone back to mine after for drinks and cake which will nice gonna have to get organised for that arghh!!!

This card was requested by my sister for her friend Deb's. I really felt the pressure when doing this one as my sister had told me that Deb's really loves cards more than presents and that she had been telling her about my cards. Silly but I really did worry about this one!!

Paper is from a magazine free 6x6 pad, 50 cut in same paper and a shadow in plain pink on Cricut expression attached to matted nestie circles with 3d clear pads. Flowers punched using various punches, leaves good old Martha, butterlflie xcut punch, ribbon and gems from stash.

As the butterly and bow stuck out a bit I made a box for this one and added nestie circles and a flower to the front (not in pic).

Simple wedding card

Made this very simple and quick card for friends wedding, layered crea cards of various textures, the top one printed with cream flower pattern from pink petticoat vintage rose kit. Names and sentiments printed, gems and ribbon added from stash, this really was a very quick card.

Unfortunately the pic I took wasn't that great it did look a lot better in 'real life!!'.

I've done it again..............

been missing from blogland for a long time again!! Sometimes other things seem to get in the way!!

I have few things I have been making since not been blogging, but not as much as I should have I am so behind with cards for upcomign brithdays and christmas!!! arghh I was informed today that it is 10 weeks on Saturday to Christmas day!! better get a move on!!

OH's Aunt and uncle celebrate 40 years of marriage recently, these are the cards I made for them. Top one for his parents to give them, paper is from my paper stash I am sorry I don't know where it is from, birds and branches stampion up two step bird punch, flowes x cut, 40 cut using cricut expression, gems from stash.

Bottom one butterlfy digi download from hero arts, coloured with pro markers, backing paper from magazine freebie stack, sentiment printed on red cardstock, flowers xcut punch, branches martha stewart punch.

90th Birthday card

Made this card for my Brother-in-law's Gran who was 90 on Bank Holiday Monday. Simple numers on nestie circle with punched flowers and leaves, some pearls and a ribbon, I have kept it simple and was pleased with this one. Papers are cosmo cricket I think it was a wedding paper stack I got from the papermill a while ago.

17 weeks to go!!

Well there are 17 weeks until christmas and I have just made a start on my cards for this year. I have managed 3 so far, lots more to go!!! I have downloaded several images online and have a lot of stamps which I should be using for my cards. These are digi stamp boutique images and they are adorable! Lovely to colour adaptable for all ages etc I think!!

This little fella is soo sweet!! coloured with pro markers, cut with nesties backing paper is from a forever friends christmas pack which I have had for ages, punched snowflakes and a couple of gems.

Rocky and pals coloured with pro markers, glittered on hats and tops of boots, simple layout with some punched snowflakes and punched border. Brown parcel paper used for the backing paper, I was inspired by Pickle with this (Thanks pickle there is always inspiration on your blog when the mojo leaves!).

This one is simple again ribbon and patterned paper from stash, snowflakes punched and pearl added. Again coloured with pro markers.

Catch up

Thought it was time to catch up with the cards I have been making over the past couple of weeks.

This one is a card I made for my nieces to give to one of their friends Ruby, who will be 5 tomorrow. The gorgeous little girls was a freebie image from Anne Bodill, here, check out Anne's blog she has some lovely images.

I have entered this card into the DU2DS challenge 44 this week which is blooms and charms, the background paper is covered in blooms and the little butterlfy charm enables this one to qualify for this challenge.
Papers were free with a magazine, image coloured with pro markers. Ribbon, charm and pearls from stash. Not overly happy with the colour of the picture the light has been rubbish here today and this was the best one I could get of her this morning before I had to deliver the card.

The next one was the one I made for my Gorgeous youngest Niece Matilda who was 2 on Saturday, she loves being in a swing and will happily let my dad push her for as long as he will. When I saw this image by CC designs I immediately thought of Tilds.

I have entered this one into the anyone for anya challenge for this week, it is the 1st year anniversary of the anyone for anya challenge blog and there is also a blog hop. I you are interested pop over here for details of the challenge and hop.

Papers are again free with a magazine, image coloured with pro markers, decoupaged branch, girls legs and the butterflies. Punched flowers from some of the other papers in the pack. Ribbon and pearls from stash. This one is for my excellent friend Chantelle, who's birthday is tomorrow. She now lives near Liverpool but is down on holiday at the moment so I gave her this one as I won't see her tomorrow on her birthday.

Again papers from a free pack with a magazine, simple matting and layering with co-ordinated colour card, pearls and ribbon in bright pink which pick out the pink in the paper pattern. Bird punched with stampin up two step bird punch. Yes I have also used a peel off sentiment, I am not as big a fan of these as I was when I started making cards (they were all I really knew in the beginning), but I do still think they have a place in my craft world when I need one.

I was really pleased with the card above and my Mum asked me to make a card this week for a friend of the family, not really knowing what she really likes I thought I would do similar.

Papers are free ones again from a magazine, punched bird and flowers, ribbon and pears from stash, and another peel off sentiment.

That's it for the moment, I am working on a couple more cards and have started to prep some bit for Christmas cards which I am hoping to get on with ASAP.

I am on holiday this week and as not gone away I thought I would fit in plenty of crafting time, so far I have not done a great deal as I have been out with my Sister and the girls for the past two days and am off out with them again tomorrow and with them and some friends on Thursday. Oh well time with family is precious and card making can be done later.

Perfect Pear

Found this image free here coloured with pro markers and layered on nestie circles. Sage green bazzil card used for card and a small strip of green stripe from MME Bloom and Grow papers. Ribbon and gems from stash.

Going travelling

One of the young men from work has left us this week to go travelling around the world for 2 years. Card is A4 size, simple matting and layering on the front with a map of the world and small post cards which I printed of some of the places he will be visiting. Aeroplane was added at the last minute to fill the gap between the sentiment and the main image. It was handed around the office for everyone to sign and we bought him some $'s as america is his first stop. Lucky devil!!!

Well today turned out better than I expected, we ended up going to the North Devon Show when the rain finally stopped, it took us on hour to get there and it's only a few miles down the road. We had a lovely afternoon and saw lots of people who we have hane't seen for a long time, also nice to do something with Oh for an afternoon as he works so hard it is a rarity!

Pear Wedding Anniversary

My friend from work Marian and her husband Simon who also works at the same place, were thrown a surprise wedding anniversary party on Saturday night. I wanted to make her something I wouldn't normally do as she loves crafting and card making.

I came up with this:

I used a nice textured card stock for the card and layering, cut 30 with sizzix alphabet roundabout, covered the numbers in versamark ink and triple embossed them with silver pearl embossing powder. I loved how they turned out so I did the same with the flowers, they were punched from pearl paper and embossed just once. they came out looking like they were made of the inside of a shell. unfortunately I couldn't show this all that well in the pictures.

Made a box to fit the card and decorated the front to match the card.

80th Birthday

Good morning! the weather is miserable here in Devon this morning, OH really wants to go to the North Devon Show but I am dragging my heels a bit. I can't think of much worse than looking at farm machinery etc in the rain and he won't want to spend all day in the craft and food tents like I would. Anyway I have told him if it brightens up by 11 we will go. It's not far from us so I think that is fine.

Anyway I made this card for my Mum to give to a lady who she used to work with, I used my new Stampin up two step bird punch for the first time for this one and I was really pleased with it. I think this punch will get plenty of use.

Bird and branches/leaves coloured with distress inks faded jeans and shabby shutters.

I have made this card to enter onto the pollycraft blog here, you need to make something with a freebie from Pollycraft there are tonnes of them to choose from and if you are like me and collect them up in your computer it is hard to choose one to use for this.

I have used Earth Fairy 'Love you this much!!' which I love. This card was made for my friends daughter who was 8 last week. This little fairy reminded me of her.

Coloured her with pro markers, layered with purple card which contrasts with the pink backing paper, papermania backing paper from summer goody bag. Butterflies punched and added to the side to 'fill a space'. gems and flower from stash.

Wedding/reunion

I made this card forsomeone who has been one of my closest friends, Simon and his new wife Sarah. Si and I met at Uni and became friends from day one (that was 16 years ago) we did so much together over several years. As happens with most of us and friends I think, we kind of drifted appart and have not seen eachother for some time now (several years in fact). Si got married a month ago in Vegas and had a party on Staurday night. He lives an hour and a half from me but I really wanted to go, he thought I would not actually turn up on the night and was very suprised which was amazing. I got tosee him and his new wife, had a lovely time catching up with friends of thiers who I also used to 'hang out with' and had various holidays with. I wish now I had not left it so long and missed so much time with them but this is the start of seeing eachother more now I think. It felt like we had not been appart at all when we were chatting etc, which I think are signs of good friends xx

Simple and similar to others I have done in the past but I love this design, It is not my own idea however, I have been inspired in the past but I am sorry to whoever it was who's blog/do crafts I got the idea from, as I cannot remember who it was. (sorry..)

Simple 18th Birthday

My Mum asked me to make a card for her neighbours 18th birthday, they were invited to her BBQ and wanted a nice card. I don't know her very well and have no idea what she likes, so I wanted to keep this one simple.

white card layered with black andd white, black white and silver nestie shapes cut and layered. Piece of ribbon from stash, martha punch leaves and flowers from stash. The glitter numbers are large stickers which I got fron Tesco. Gems from stash.

This card was done start to finish in around 30 minutes, including searching my stash for all the bits wanted to use. You should see my stash it is such a mess at the moment!!

I hope she liked it, I know I would have when I was 18, ooh that seems so long ago now!!!

Baby Beau

Hi Everyone!

OH's cousin has had a baby boy in the past few days, they have named him Beau which I think is a fab name! I have yet to meet the new addition to the family but have made him this little card. I do love this digi stamp and can see me using it a lot more to come too.

Coloured with pro markers, decoupaged blue spotty paper from stash, scallops cut with x cut border punch for waves and a ribbon added, not putting a sentiment on this one as I think I like it as it is.

Fathers Day 2010

Here are the two cards I made for fathers day this year, both of them very rushed on Sunday morning as usual, I just never seem to get myself organised to make things I need in advance. I come to my craft room for hours and just make other things, sometimes I leave not having actually created anything lol.

Papers for this are MME bloom and grow, Happy Fathers Day printed on PC, image stamped with a Scene it stamp I think. My OH is a farmer and his Dad is his partner so this stamp was bought a few weeks ago with fathers day in mind, I was really pleased with this card.

This one is for my Dad as he like the odd pint or two LOL!! Image is personal impressions clear stamp, paper MME bloom and grow, circular sentiment was a free download, I think from the creative cottage.

This is a card I made for an order, the image is from squiggle fly. I printed twice coloured one whole image with pro markers and then did the heads of the animals again and attached with 3d foam pads.
I love this cute image and will be using it again I just know it!!!

Mum's 60th Birthday exploding box

My Mum was 60 last Tuesday, I wanted to make her something more than a card. know she has loved some of the exploding boxes which I have done before so I decided to make one for her. I have kept the colours white, blue and silver with a very small hint of brown which runs throught the ribbon around the lid of the box.

It's been such a long time again! I have been busy with work due to the recent parliamentary election, now that it is all over I am not working silly hours and intend to catch up with every one's blogs etc and do some crafting. I have made very little lately but have a couple of things I would like to share with you all.

Firstly is Harriet's card. I showed the bag I made but not the card so here she is:

Image was kindly sent to me by a DC buddy I have coloured her with promarkers. Papers are downloaded, flowers punches gems etc added from my increasing stash of sparkly things. Name and number 8 cut using sizzix dies and cuttlebug.

Harriet and Julie's Birthday totes.

Today is my Niece Harriet's 8th Birthday, I mentioned time flying in my last post, but I really cannot believe she is 8 it has gone so fast!! She is a little angel who I am very close to (and her two sisters) I wonder how much longer that will be for, she is growing up so much!!! I am not sure I was so grown up at 8.

She has had a terrible day today bless her, she has been at home all day with a tummy bug, my sister also has the same, they both started at about 1am and it has gone on all day xx

I went out to see her and my poor sister was not at all well, my Mum took the two youngest home with her for a few hours and I sat with Harriet whilst Teresa went to bed to try and get some sleep. We sat watching a film together and she said "I'm having a lovely birthday" I asked why and she said it was nice to just sit and watch a movie quietly with me. Ah bless her!!! I do love her!

I have become addicted to making little tote bags, as I made one for my sister a few weeks ago Harriet really wanted one so I have done a similar thing for her with a little pic of JLS in as her real pressie is a ticket to go and see them in July.

The papers are printed from the CD which came with the Do Crafts Mag a couple of months ago. Post it note holder with a pen holder on the side and a little pen which I manged to buy a set of three in Smiths for these as other pens are too big. JLS pic mounted onto board covered with dotty paper as bag, I have added a little bit to the back so she can stand this on her shelf in her bedroom. Purse is part of the tote bag template so I made it up and put £1 in it. Hello Kitty Mirror, lip gloss and bangle from H&M. All three of the girls are crazy about Hello Kitty and we are all constantly looking for things for them that they haven't already got.

She was very pleased with her bag and kept picking it up and looking at it/putting on lip gloss all afternoon.

Today is also my very good friend and work colleague Julie's birthday. I made her a bag too:

I put a mascara, body spray, nail file and a small notepad and pen in this one for her. I try to put things in so they are similar to items we would have in our handbags. Julie was over the moon with this bag and I was really pleased that she liked it so much.

I haven't yet uploaded the pic of Harriet's card so I will post when I have done that. I gave Julie a card I made a couple of weeks ago which I have posted already.

Digi Stamp Easter Cards

Oh dear! It has been a couple of weeks again since I posted anything, I am always amazed when this happens, where does the time go?

I have been busy with work, which is going to geet busier over the next few weeks but I have been making the most of my spare time spending lots of time with family and fitting in some crafting where I can. I have made a few more Easter cards to share with you. These are again images from Digi Stamp Boutique using papers from the Zoe Pearn free paper pack, which you may be sick of me using I seem to have used little else since I got it!! I still have more to share with you using these papers too, I am sorry!!

I have coloured all images with Pro Markers .

Not a card this time!

It's my sister's birthday tomorrow, I'm not giving her much as a present as I have bought her a ticket to see JLS later in the year. I wanted to give her something and whilst browsing Papercraft Planet I found a link to here where I purchased the download template and instructions. They look fab and are very easy to make. I used the Free download papers from Zoe Pearn if you haven't already seen these, they are available here when you sign up for updates from Zoe. Some of you will have seen that I have used very little else since getting these!! I love them!

I printed the papers onto Rymans card, Plain on one side and flowery on the other for the main body of the bag. Spotty one side and plain on the other for trim, handles, and base as well as inside pocket and accessories.

The template for the bag comes as a PDF which I printed onto the flower side of the paper and cut out. The instructions for the card come as a PDF with pictures for each step and are very easy to follow. The download is $5.00, which I know some may think is a bit much, but I think I will get my monies worth from this one, I can see several of these being made for upcoming birthday's.

Anyway here it is:

A picture of JLS, in place of the ticket as I don't have them yet!

A small Purse and a post it note holder with a mini gel pen.

There's a £1 in the Little purse, I have printed the flowery pattern onto some 120gsm paper and put inside the barrel of the pen so it matches the whole theme. The rymans card was too thick for this.

If I have time before she comes here tomorrow I would like to pop to town and pick up a couple of things to put in just a small body spray and lip gloss maybe? We'll have to see if I have time. We're off out tomorrow to Barnstaple and we're going to Prezzo for lunch, somewhere I have not been yet but heard great things about!

Well in my previous post I said I was going to wrap up and go out into the garden this afternoon, I did for a bit but it truly is cold so I didn't stay out long. So I came back in and decided to try out one of the fairy's which I downloaded from Pollycraft. I bought them some time ago but this is the first card I have done with them. I coloured it with promarkers and tool my colour inspiration from a card on pollycraft. The papers are again from the Zoe Pearn freebie download for subscribing to her blog here.

I have added glamour dust to her wings and ultra fine purple glitter to the top of the tulips, the dragon fly also has some ultra fine green glitter on the tips of his wings.

The flower was made similarly to the roses which I have seen tutorials from on various blogs and you tube, instead of the 6 petal punch they used, I used my large EK success daisy. Curled the petals back a bit for dimension and added a pink gem to the center. The leaves are cut using a sizzix die and a slightly lighter shade of gemstones cardstock than the green I matted the main image onto.

I am becoming addicted to these little digi images, I want to share the card I made this morning with them, this time I have used the bear and bunny image. Again I am using the Zoe Pearn papers which are free if you sign up to her blog here. Digital images available from here at the Digi stamp boutique.

Image coloured with promarkers, craft card is recycled from a box, flower punched using large EK success daisy and small crafts too daisy, pearl added to center of each small flower and large clear gem in center of large flower.

Digi Stamp Boutique Easter Cards

Good morning, it's a lovely morning here this morning the fields have a white frost/dew on them and the sun is shining. Just before I go off to work I wanted to share the two cards I made last night with my new digi stamps I got from here at the Digi Stamp Boutique. I entered thier candy a couple of weeks ago and loved the image so when they came out this week I bought the set of 5. There are 3 rabbit images and 2 bear ones all of which are lovely.

I have used the free paper kit from Zoe pearn which is available here if you sign up to her newsletter, you get a link sent to you to download a scrap kit free, this includes a paper pack, elements and alpha's. Zoes papers are amazing. I have just printed them onto Rymans smooth card and they are fab!! Zoe is a designer who has designed for MME and is a very talented lday check out her blog and sign up.

Anyway here are last nights cards, I wish I could be at home today to make some more with the other 3 images I have not yet used!

All Papers are Zoe Pearn, buttons etc from stash, raffia ribbon from stash. The scalloped edges were made with the new Xcut boarder punch. I am so pleased I managed to get this punch, they are small but only £3.99, easy to work with and line up, and I must say much better than my Fiskars border ones. If you haven't tried them give them a go this one is lovely, I had the last one in my local shop yesterday!

Ronan Keating

I have to post this although it is nothing related remotely to card making/paper crafts which I normally post on my blog.

Last night I was lucky enough to go to the Collston Hall in Bristol to see Ronan Keating, My lovely sister bought me the ticket for my birthday, what no-one told me until yesterday is that we had seats in the second row right near where Ronan was standing for most of he concert. As the Collston Hall is not a big venue, second row is really close. As Bristol is about an hour and a half drive for us, we went at lunchtime looked around the shops, went for a meal and then to the concert. I had a thoroughly fantastic time, there were 5 of us who all went together and I thank them all for a fantastic day out and some of the best seats in the house!!

Nothing like being last minute

This is my entry for the Squiggle Stamps prize challenge. I only found it this morning so this has been a very quick card.

The challenge was to make a card (Or other project) using a squiggle stamp (rubber or digi) include the colour pink and heart or hearts. I chose Oscar the Clown for my image, this one is a digi download from here.

I know a lot of people find clowns sinister, I have however always loved them and used to collect them as a child. As soon as I looked at the digi stamps this morning I knew this was the one.

This is my first challenge card for any challenge so it is a bit exciting for me. I have really not had a lot of time, typically before I got to print my Image my printer ran out of one ink and would not print anymore, I had to go to Barnstaple to get some more ink this afternoon before I could even start on this one! Arghh!!

I was going for a monochrome card just using shades of pink, I did the clown and then decided that a bit of colour would be nice, this paper was in my stash.

Oscar is coloured with promarkers, matted on white and pink pearl card, his hat and bow tie have been decoupaged. Keeping with the circle theme of the paper, I added pink ribbon which has circles (sorry you can't see the detail too well in this pic). Flower is from pink pearl card, silver heart brad used to attach to card. I have left it simple with no sentiment on the front so it can be used for any child occasion. I punched some of the coloured circles and decoupaged them for a bit more dimension.

I have heard this evening that my youngest niece who is 18 months, cut her head open today and had to go to casualty to have it glued and steri striped. I am now glad I left it blank as I think I will give it to her tomorrow for being a brave girl.

Before I go off to do more to my challenge entry, I would like to share with the card I made this morning for my godson Cameron who will be 5 tomorrow.

A couple of weeks ago I came across Sj's little musings visit blog HERE a lovely blog with some fab images, the one I used was Finn, this image was one of SJ's Friday freebies, these images come coloured and in outline. For this one I used the outline and coloured him myself using my Promarkers.

The green and brown circle paper is from HERE summer has some lovely scrap kits which are free to download, I use a lot of her papers for card making. The brown panel at the bottom of the card is coredinations, which I have sanded off. As is the brown mat on the main panel. Green card are scarps from my ever growing scrap box. Green jute style twine used across centre and tied in a bow on top of a papermania brown button. The sentiment was printed onto coredinations, sanded and matted. Punched circles just added to the left side as I felt just needed a little something there.

Forever friends christening

Made this last night relatively quickly for a colleague, she did give me more notice but as usual I left it to the last minute to actually do anything about making it. I don't seem to be able to work too far in advance lol wonder how many of us are like that?
The request was "a christening card with ribbon and a charm"

The dots were embossed with the faithful old light box, I used a child's stencil as it had larger circles than any of my embossing stencils.

Papermania forever friends stamp, coloured with pro markers. Blue bazzil card, blue organza ribbon, teddy bear charm sentiments printed on PC, papermania self adhesive gems. Ovals cut with nesties.

I enjoyed this one and am pleased with how it turned out.

Off to work now for another exciting day at the office, we are up against some really tight deadlines at the moment, hence not much card making going on, I usually enjoy unwinding by making cards but at the moment I just don't have the energy when I come home. This weekend I am going to try and use some of the stamps I recently bought at the charity shop. How lucky was I lots of Tim Holtz!! and a whole tin of distress inks, which I have yet to even attempt to use.

Hopefully will be posting something with some of that for you over the weekend.

Valentines 2010 first easel card

Happy Valentines Day to everyone. I have waited until now to share my card with you all, the main reason for that is Steve had not seen it until this morning and he often likes to look and see what's going on when I am blogging or on DC. I'm not sure how much he actually takes in or if he just thinks he should look interested lol.

Anyway I have to thank a fellow DC member Whisper for helping me with the image for this card.

This is my first easel card, 6x6 easel card, matted and layered with black card and a red bazzil card. Image coloured with pro markers. Hearts punched with X-cut punch three on top part of card have a small pearl on them.

Male 30th Birthday.

Made this card last night for a friend who is 30 on Monday - Happy Birthday Mark!! He's having a suprise party tonight. His wife has been planning it for ages and no-one has said anything. Today I was shopping in town with my Mum, and we saw Mark and Annette, I tired really hard not to mention it (I'm not good at all this secret stuff). But I said nothing, it was my Mum who mentioned his party!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHH I'm not sure he picked up on it, the conversation was changed very quickly!!!! Will have to see later if he did hear her reference to it! She is mortified and I just didn't know what to do.

Well anyway, Mark loves his xbox guitar hero so I found this digi image at pink petticoat which I thought was a good one for him at the moment. Backing paper was printed from the cd free with most recent do crafts mag. Stars from night and day sizzix alpha set. Glittered the guitar with brown fine glitter, and added green gems to the nexklace and tail of the dino. I hope that's not made it too girly for him!!

I also wanted to get him a little gift and found some little cuff links which are like little xbox controllers, which I hope he will like. Men are so hard to buy for aren't they.

Off to get ready now as have to catch a bus at 6.40 to get there in time for the suprise, which may not now be a suprise LOL.

Bad Blogger..

I am such a bad blogger at the moment, I was intending to come back quickly after my last post, but moved on and didn't upload anymore pics.

Have had the most terrible week at work and found some release in the evenings by making a couple of cards in the evenings, one of which took me two nights, I'll show you them first:

This one is not my own design, I found it on Clare Curds craft blog, I have not used these signature range stamps much, and I did make a promise to myself to use all of the tings I have tucked away in drawers etc that rarely come out (or have never been used!!).

When I saw this card on the blog I loved it so I decided to recreate it (with very few changes so I guess it blatant plagiarism!!). It took two evenings to complete, it's fiddly stamping, colouring and cutting everything lol!!

Thanks to Clare and her design team for the inspiration for this one!

I have been very impatiently awaiting my order from Sizzix which I placed in their most recent sale. Nightmare!!! I got 9 of the 18 items I ordered, none of the Hello Kitty dies which I really wanted and am very disappointed with the whole thing. But nothing I can do to change that now. One of the dies I got I was very keen to use quickly! I love owls and this little beauty is, I think lovely. The dies arrived yesterday and I made this one last night:

This is a large card 7.5" x 7.5", backing paper is my minds eye, Bloom and Grow. Sizzix leaves, and nesties scalloped and plain circles all cut with cuttlebug. Large flower cut from another piece of paper from the bloom and grow range attached to card with a fabric covered brad which matches the paper. I cut the owl from white card and coloured him with pro-markers, I wanted more of a textured look than you get with coloured card.

Now that I have taken this pic and uploaded it, I may add some more to this card. Possibly something missing?

Below are two cards which I made at the weekend and should have uploaded before now. Again using some of the stash I never get to.

They are both using brown and gold card from my stash, this one uses some stamps which have never seen ink before, I stamped onto the gold for the background, and stamped the squiggle flower on the gold 3 times, cut out all three slightly differently and layered them to make the large flower.

This one uses my Clare Curd signature stamps again, and the x-cut butterfly punch (which I had to have a while back but have never used before!!)

Oh my goodness, where has the time gone, I cannot believe it has been over 2 months since I last posted. We had quite a few things on during November and I guess then I just got pulled along with Christmas etc....I have not made much in the time since I have not posted but I have a couple of things to share with you (if anyone is still there after all this time LOL).

We had a fantastic Christmas this year, I hosted my first ever family Christmas at my house. That is quite a shameful thing to say at 35 years old. I bought a new table which extends to seat 12 as we thought we could have that many (at one time it looked like it could be 16 LOL that would have been fun for my first one) it was actually 9 which was lovely!

I really enjoyed all the planning and prep, buying lots of nice things and dressing the table was the best thing. We have not yet done our dining room so we had to move the furniture around in the living room but there was plenty of room and we all had far to much to eat and a lovely time (I also had a little bit to drink LOL).

The first card I am posting is similar to the one which I last posted on 1st November, this one is a different colour scheme, I made this for My OH's Mum who was 60 in November. She loved the one I made for his auntie so I thought I would do a similar one for her
Anyway here is the card:

The papers are MME bloom and grow from 8x8 stack. pink circles cut with nesties in cuttlebug, leaves sizzix using cuttlebug, flowers paper roses which I bought from a garden centre craft section.

Ribbon is thick organza which I had in my extensive ribbon stash lol. She was very pleased with it which is always nice!

As this post could get long with my ramblings, I think I will leave it there and come back with a couple more cards later.

OH's Aunt was 60 yesterday and we have been out for lunch today with all the family and some of her friends, had a lovley carvery in a pub on Exmoor. She didn't want any gifts but I had to make her a card!

Papers are My Minds Eye, Bloom and Grow. Printed numbers onto the spotty paper and cut out with scissors and craft knife. Leaves cut from sizzix die, flowers from stash, clear dew drops dotted around the flowers and leaves.

Halloween

I made these little bags for my nieces as halloween treats, filled with haribo star mix for Harriet and Olivia and mini packs of white chocolate buttons for Matilda, she's only one so can't have the haribo yet, although I think she would like to give them a go!

Of course there had to be a Hello Kitty theme her too!

Olivia is 4

My second Niece Olivia was 4 on 30th October. As she and her sister are Hello Kitty crazy (I made her Hello Kitty invitations a couple of weeks ago) I put together this card for her using some dies which I bought a while back direct from sizzix, they were having a sale on them at the time.

I have to say before I even start putting up pics that I have taken my layout from a card on Pickle's blog. Thank you Pickle, I find much inspiration in your beautiful cards and blog and hope you don't mind me using this layout!

The Hello Kitty themed party went well even the cake was Hello Kitty. All adults as tired as the kids at the end I think!!!!

A few cards from the last few weeks

Not posted much lately and have just emptied all the pics from my camera onto my laptop. There are a few cards on there which I would like to share with you from the past few weeks, hope you like them.

Thankyou Owl, made for someone at work. Papers are My Mind Eye bloom and grow and owl is freebie from craft stamper magazine (I do love him!). Sizzix leaves, punched flowers, ribbon and gems from stash. Peel Off thankyou.

Wedding card for friends Amy and Simon, I knew the colour scheme for the day so made this to fit with it. Red and white card, cuttlebug embossed swiss dots, gem rings bought from Joanna Sheens website a while back. Printed sentiment on PC. Ribbon from stash.

Anniversary frogs, very simple and quick to make, craft planet stickers, nestie cut scalloped circles, swiss dots embossed card. Punched flowers, gems from stash, computer generated sentiment.

Freebie image (I am sorry I don't know where I got this one, coloured with pencils, paper is my minds eye bloom and grow, ribbon and gems from stash. Peel offs for wording.

FF bears wedding stamp, coloured with pro markers, backing paper was from stash not sure what it is, ribbon etc from stash also. Sentiment printed on PC.

Good evening, well thanks goodness it's Friday!! Hope you have all had a good week. I wanted to show you all these I made them last week for my niece Olivia who will be 4 on 30th October, she is having a Hello Kitty Party and asked me to make Hello Kitty invitations.

I have covered their address and telephone number using paint for obvious reasons to publish on here!

Hello Kitty is a sizzix die which I cut on white bazzil card and coloured the parts which needed to be colour with my pro markers. printed image on white card and layered on coloured card, Kitty added to left side of each one with 3d foam pads. punched flowers to fill the white space on right of the cards. These are A6 size and I did various colours as I was using up some scraps of card from another job I did a while ago.

I've not made many cards lately, not a lack of anything except time, really need to get cracking on Christmas so I hope to be back to show you more very soon!!

I can't believe it's been a month since I last blogged!! Things just seem to have been hectic with home and work

I saw these stamps online earlier this week and fell in love with them immediately. I had to buy them and have been waiting to play with them. The stamps are by Gillian Roberts for stampavi, I got them from here. There are a few different ones, I have bought three of them so far. These are the first cards made with the kissing mice.

This one is a 5x7 card blank in portrait. Backing paper is from K&Co peppermint twist mat pad. Co-ordinating bazzil card. Circle nesties used to mount image onto. Image coloured with pro markers. Threading water punch border at top with organza bow and mistletoe which I bought in a local craft shop sale last year and have not found the right place to use before. Strips of backing paper, and bazzil card at bottom. Three pearls added to complete.

I have not added any sentiments to these cards yet as I haven't decided what to put on them.

Backing paper from same mat pad as above, image coloured with pro markers. Mistletoe on corners hand cut, berries are small pearl gems.

I seem to be spending hours colouring with my pro markers at the moment and not actually finishing many cards. Still not 100% happy with what I am achieving with them.

Nativity Scene side step

Hope you have all had a good week. I have had the week off work and have spent most of the week with my sisters children, it has been great fun!! I have not had time to do any cards though. This is one from last weekend which I have not had time to upload until now. I bought a pack of Anita's nativity stickers with no idea what I was going to do with them, I have
been making side step cards so thought it may work.

Stable is made from some wood effect paper. all nativity stickers were put onto white card and cut out, Mounted onto card with 3d foam pads.
Not a lot to say about it really it's that simple I think. Am really pleased with this one may even make some more as a couple of people who have seen it have said "can you make me loads" or in one case "can i have 100?" sufficed to say I had to decline as I won't be making 100 of them LOL.

Another side step card, this time using some stickers I found in my stash, I think I bought them originally from WH Smith. They are clear epoxy type stickers, after making the robot card I thought this may work so gave it a go. I am really pleased with it!!! I didn't make this with anyone in mind just wanted to see what it would look like after I had the idea. I put the stickers onto acetate and cut around them. Then attached them to the card with 3d foam. I also used the packaging from these stickers, the island, and sharks were part of the packaging so I cut them out and added them to my card. The palm trees where I have added the parrot and treasure were also part of the packaging which I cut out.

Good morning, hope you are all enjoying yur bank holiday Monday. I haven't been on for a while as I have had no Broadband connection at home for a few days. I have had chance to make a few cards while not being online!

I am trying to make all my cards I need for the rest of the year, then I can concentrate on Christmas cards! This one is for my friends little boy (Max) in early November. I bought the stickers and then came up with doing a side step card, I have seen a few side step cards on the do crafts gallery and liked them, this is the first one I have made myself.

Backing paper from stash (had it so long I don't know what it is)

Robots Craft Planet stickers stuck onto white card and cut out. All other stickers from the same sheet.

I have wanted this stamp since seeing it would be on this months Craft Stamper magazine, I have been unable to find a copy until this asfternoon. It is one of those stamps you just can't wait to try, I had a few ideas about what I wanted to do with it and here is my first card made using it:

Paper is from My Minds Eye, Bloom & Grow. Gemstone cardstock.

Decoupaged parts of the house and tree, coloured with pro markers, door and windows coloured with Sakura Glaze pens to give them a shine.

Matilda's 1st Birthday

I made this for my youngest niece who was one yesterday, time flies so quickly watching them grow!! it does not seem like a year ago we were waiting at home for a phone call to say she had arrived.

The first thing I need to say about this card is that I was inspired by Pickles lovely blog a load of old pickle, when I saw the card she had created using these cute little bears I knew I wanted to do something similar. I bought the bears some time ago from cuddly buddly had not used them and saw the perfect opportunity here. I have decorated all sides of the card, although as you will see the back is just a pic of a bear with an ice cream sunday. unfortunately I had missed a side when taking pics and realised after I had written on it. Not sure how that happened but I have added it anyway.

It's not very visible from the picture but the ribbon is tied in a bow at the top of the card, there is a small little bear charm on there.

Inside cover of the card with a bear and M for Matilda matted and layered onto nestie scalloped circles.

Here come the grils

I have been working with my Anya's again this afternoon, I don't think I will ever tire of these. I have yet to complete a card with the beach one so I have set myself a challenge to do so this weekend otherwise she is wasted.

Card and ribbon from stash, background paper DCVWV mini stack I've had for a while now and never used much, stamp freebie from Do crafts mag a few months ago. You can't see from the pic but the backing paper is glittered and quite busy with the pattern so I decided not to add too much other embellishment, I may change that thought, let me know if you have an opinion about that one! PLEASE!!

Wedding with a difference for me

Good eveing everyone, it is an absolutely fantastic evening here weather wise! The sun is shining it's still really warm and I guess I should be out in the garden making the most of it, you never know when it may stop again and go back to rain. Well I have a new card to share with you all so I am inside posting this waiting for OH to come in from work. Problem with living with a farmer is when the weather is like this he's working! Oh well more time to craft without guilt I guess LOL.

If you have seen other cards I have done you may know this isn't my norm for a wedding card but I really like it and will be doing similar again. The lady I made this for was really pleased with it which is always nice!

Have had the pro markers and whispers out this afternoon and tried a but of both for this one. I'm sorry about the horrible pic I'll try to replace it with a better one later!!!

Still no rain here in Devon so far today so I'm hoping that using the anaya with the umberella is not going to tempt it back over us for a while!

Quite plain and simple really but I don't think she needs anything else except a sentiment but I'm not sure what I'm going to use her for so have left that for another time.

1st Card with pro markers

At last we have some sunshine here in lovely Devon!!! Not sure how long it will last but the view from my craft room is lovely this morning though so I thought I would share with you all:

It's not been like this for a while now! It does help with the crafting I think.

This is my first card with imaged coloured using pro markers. I bought myself a set last weekend but have not had much time this week to play with them. Now that I have used them I can see that I need many more colours!!

I didn't have a skin tone which is essential I know but I just bought the set and didn't really think about it. I have used a whispers brush marker for the skin on this one.
I also went to Ryman and bought some of their coated cardstock which I read on DC was good for stamping and colouring. I have to agree it is nice to work with, the pen glides accross and it doesn't break up like some of the card I have tried in the past.

Image is Miss Anya, as you all know! papers are downloads from Summer Driggs. I printed the backing paper smaller so that I had the same with smaller spots to paper piece the umberella. Flowers punched with a gem inside the large ones, I didn't have gems the right colour so I coloured them with the pro markers.

Caravan Lovers

It's been almost a month since I last posted, I have made very few cards in that time and am hoping over the next few days to catch up a bit with some of the cards which I need to make.
The first one is one which is needed for today and I have completed this morning!! this is so typical of me, everything is last minute!!

The card is for a couple celebrating thier 11th wedding anniversary, they have recently bought a caravan and love getting away in it at weekends at the moment (even with the terrible summer we are having down here!)
The decoupage is paper-nation as is the matching backing paper, both were very kindly sent to me by a fellow do crafter Margaret N, after I posted a request for help with the caravan theme. Thanks Margaret!!!

I hope they like it and don't think it is taking the mickey of them!

I decided as you can see not to leave any of the card un-embelsihed so I have something on all sides. I have not done this before but actually quite like it, some may say a bot over done though I guess?

Bright Pink Anya with something new and different for me

I have made this card with one of my Anya's. I have coloured her with whispers brush markers, matted and layered simply with pink black and silver. The pink is paper which I got in the paper mill, it is a lovely colour and has a great texture on it.

The something new and different for me are the little pink flowers, whilst having a little hunt through my stash, I discovered some shrink plastic which I have not touched for a very long time and had forgotten all about. I punched flowers and shrunk them then coloured them with sakura glaze pens. The centres are small black pearl effect gems.
They look like little glass buttons and I am very pleased with the result I got with these.

Take That, Holiday and the Owl Again

Good afternoon, I have not blogged for a few days as I have been on holiday. I went to London last Wednesday to see Take That at Wembley. We drove up and back got home at about 4.30 in the morning which was mad but it was worth every moment of the very long day. I have seen several live concerts including Robbie 3 times, but I have to be honest and say that this was the best I have ever seen. It was far more than just a concert, there was so much going on in the show!! I will honestly never forget that evening.
Gary Go who I had never heard of before he did a warm up for them was really good! James Morrison was as expected very very good and I am glad it was him as we had thought it may be Lady Gaga, who I like but not as much.

On Thursday I went to Cornwall for a few days with my OH and my parents, we stayed in a lovely 'villa' near Padstow and had a very lovely time. we had two days of lovely weather and the rest a bit showery (more than a bit at times LOL) but the weather didn't matter too much we just had a nice time.
Visited, Padstow, Truro, Falmouth, St Ives and Newquay, went to The Cornish Arms which is a pub which Rick Stein now has the lease on, the food was brilliant! Also had his fish and chips on our last night from his take away in Padstow, I have to say the chips were amazing but the fish was very disappointing! Still not been to his restaurant but maybe one day! LOL I doubt it!!

Anyway, I had withdrawl from crafting for the past week and so as soon as I could I had to make a card, so here's what I have put together.

Ingredients:
Square white 6x6 card blank
Stamped and embossed owl (free with July issue of Craft Stamper Magazine)
Plain Green cardstock
My Minds Eye patterned papers
Orange gemstones cardstock (in two shades)
Plain brown card (to cut branch)
Green satin ribbon
Prima flowers
papermania orange gemstones
Plastic eyes

I stamped and embossed the owl, coloured with whispers brush markers, stuck on eyes.
covered card blank with patterened and plain paper/card, cut an orange strip of card which I edged with fiskars threading water punch, layered ribbon on top of the orange strip. Cut branch freehand from plain brown card for the owl to sit on. Leaves are cut from the paper which is at the bottom of the card. flowers stuck to card and genstones added to their centers. Sentiment is from the claire Curd Signature Range sentiment set, clear embossed on the green card.

I am sure I have bored you all enough now with this post it seems a bit long, but hey ho there has been a lot going on this week.

Acceptance Card

The weather here is not as good as it has been the past few days, so I am inside making an attempt to catch up on some cards which I need to get done, whilst OH is outside making a start on painting the house. I think that will be a job which will probably last a few weeks/months LOL!

Anyway I have made this acceptance card this morning, I need three at the moment for wedding parties we've been ivited to over the summer. We had all three invitations this week. I really like this card so it's not my normal thing to completely copy a card but I may replicate this one for the others.

The card is simple and was quick to do.
Acceptance printed onto the card using PC, font is scriptina which I downloaded free from the internet.
large and small punch flowers, gems and pearls, small satin flowers which I cut from a strip of small flowers which I had in my stash.

and inside:

Inside wording is printed on pearlescent paper using PC and bradley hand font, I wanted this different from the front as the front font is not as effective if you put a lot together (just my opion). Matted onto some card the same as the actual card is made from, large and small punched flowers to embelish the inside, no gems etc used as I didn't think it needed them (I'll probably change my mind later and add some).

Wedding Money Wallet

Wedding Exploding box

What a lovely summers day here today, getting lots done, washing cleaning amd making things it's all most unusual for a Saturday morning! LOL
I am going to my cousins wedding party tonight and wanted to make her something a little more than a card, so I decided to make her an exploding box with a wedding cake inside. I have made it in the colours she is having for the wedding, which I know as I made all her invitations and tabel plan for her. They are having a very small wedding at a very nice hotel at 2pm this afternoon then a party tonight. Last night they very kindly invited us over to the hotel for a BBQ and casino night which was fantastic fun. I now know not to go to vegas as I could not stop myself and would have no money when I came back it is such fun. Last night was not for any real money!!!

I am loving these boxes at the moment and am looking for the next excuse to make a different one. I decided to make this one at 7.30 this morning and it took me in total about 3 hours to complete.

Happy Birthday Lily

Today is the 5th Birthday of one of my god children (I have 7 ranging from 17 to 9 months in age). Lily is my best friends daughter and she is 5 today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILY XXXXXX

Below is the card I made for her, unusually it is similar to one I have made for someone else to give to thier grandaughter a few weeks ago. Anya has blonde hair in this one as Lily is a little blondie.

She's coloured with whispers brush markers, basil and gemstones card used to creat background, sentiment printed on PC. Gems, flowers, brads and bow added to embelsih.

Fathers Day 2

I'm back with my second fathers day card. Since posting my exploding box I have been quite busy. Cleaned house, made cheesecake, 20 scones and some caramel tarts for tomorrow as well as do my potatoes ready to boil in the morning to make potato salad. Oh and cooked and had tea, Mum has been over with two of my nieces and I managed to remember to pick the washing in from the line!

After tea (and casualty) I thought I'd better make a card for OH's Dad so here it is:

Green paper is from a papermania collection which was in the last goody bag I bought a few weeks ago. Owl stamp was a freebie with craft Stamper magazine July 2009 issue. Stamped with stazon and clear embossed, Coloured with whispers brush markers. Eyes are ones I found in a haberdashery they are supposed to be for stuffed toys, I just cut the backs off them and glued them on. Branch is hand cut, leaves woodware punch.

Greeting printed using PC.

For a quick card I am pleased with this one.

Fathers Day

Here is the box I have created this morning to give my Dad tomorrow for fathers day. I bought a sheet of racing pics a long time ago as he loves horses and racing. I got them out this morning and immediately thought they would be great for an exploding box:

Cardstock is from my stash of bazzil card, pics Kanban.

The Lid

Die cut letters using sizzix roundabout alphabet. Embelshed lid with punched dots in same cardstock as used for box and other trimmings.

Nestabilities scalloped circles in same cardstock as box used to embelish the sides, matted with pics which are from same sheet as ones used inside, these have been cut out of a smaller nesstie.

What a long time since I have posted anything, I thought it was only a week or so, how time flies. I have been really busy with work for the past three weeks but things are calming down now which is good as I don't know how long I could have kept up the pace!

Hope you have all been well over the past few weeks, I am going to try and visit blogs this week to catch up!

Card making has taken a complete back seat along with everything else, but I have managed ot make one card this weekend.

Went to an evening reception last night for wedding of some friends and made them this card, when I saw the image on polycraft I knew I wanted to use it for them as the lady reminded me of the bride (not sure what she would think if she heard me say that but it is meant in a nice way)

Anyway here it is:

Sqaure 5x5 card, image from pollycraft designs available as a digital stamp. coloured with whispers brush markers, embelished with glitter and pearls. Organza ribbon, wedding cake charm, heart gems and more pearls used to decorate around the image. Congratulations sticker used for sentiment. The backing paper is K&Co wedding mat stack. Not overly happy with colouring on this one and seriously considering buying copics/pro markers/prisma pencils, I just can't get on with printed images and whispers!

Just one more quickly

Just putting this one on now, last thing before i head off for work. This is also a commissioned card, request for something for a 93 year old, perhaps flowers? I had these dimensional stickers which were free on a do crafts magazine (not the most recent one). some pink and white card and a couple of the dreaded peel offs and this is it, done in 10 minutes and I think personally it's fine for a 93 year old lady.

I know some people hate peel off's but I think they are fine, I don't have many sentiment stamps etc and I think peel off's have thier place in my craft world. Let me know what you think may be we could start a peel off debate?

Another Gorguss Girl

I was asked by a lady at work who saw my previous Gorguss Girls, to make one the same in pinks for her 6 year old grandaughter, this is the card I will be taking to her this morning so I hope she likes it. Am I the only one who worries about wether the people who have asked me to make cards will like them when I have done them? It almost makes feel sick when I deliver cards. Part of that I guess is also that I do not enjoy telling them how much they are, I hate dealing with the money side of it.

Two posts in a row after not posting for so long, well I had to make a card this afternoon for someone who requested it and I need to deliver it in the morning, as I knew my friend was coming over I got started as soon as I got back from work.

I was asked to make a card for an eight year old who loves pink.

Materials used:

White hammer card 6x6 square card blank.
Pink Bazzil Cardstock

I am really pleased with this card, she's better than the pic shows her to be. I hope the little girl receiving her likes her as much as I do.

Wedding Anniversary - tried a different technique for me

Well I have realised tonight that it has been 10 days since I last posted anything so I thought I should catch up. I would have posted this before as it is late now but I had a friend come over for a few hours to keep me company as OH is away for the weekend on a stag do.

There have been various reasons why I've not been blogging, the main one being work, it's mad at the moment, but that's not exciting so I'll show you a card instead.

I made this the week before last but have not gotten around to putting it on here until now.

It was for a colleague to give to her husband for thier wedding anniversary.

I printed the sentiment onto a square card blank, embossed lines with box board (I think that's what it's called).

Main embelishment was made tripple embossing silver powder and pressing the heart stamp into it. The stamp was a freebie with a magazine a few weeks ago. I cout out the hearts and mounted them with 3d foam. A bit of matting and layering some ribbon and gems from my stash mountain and there it is, very quick and simple.

As you can see I did one deeper than the other so I got two slightly different effects.

I finally managed to get a set of Miss Anya stamps. They arrived last week and I made one card straight away but have not had a chance to make any more. I thought I would share this one with you for now as I have not done much blogging lately.

I made three cards on Saturday, this being one of them. I found this greeny/blue paper with brown spots and couldn't stop using it, I made all three cards with it. LOL I thend to do that sometimes for some reason.

Christening Invitations

Just want to show you a sample of the Christening Invitations I have made for my youngest niece (Matilda's) christening at the end of May. Simple square cards, forever friends stamp coloured with whispers brush markers, circles cut with pettite scalloped nestabilities. Flowers punched with x cut large and small flower punches. Glitter and pearlescent accents added to flowers.

I decided not to put "Christening Invitation" on the front of these as it just didn't look right. I printed the inserts as you would expect with an invitation.

More Gorguss Girls

I have two more Gorguss Girls cards to share with you this morning. The blue and white one I made late a couple of nights ago after making the black and yellow one on my previous post. The brown and duck egg coloured one I have done this morning with the second of my stamps which I bought this week. I really am loving working with these stamps and have loads of ideas, but I need more time as this morning...............................................My Miss Anaya's arrived so I am now wanting to get working with them. I think this could be my weekend pretty much covered!!!

I have a baaby boy card which needs to be done and a couple of birthday cards which I have to do today or tomorrow, as well as invitations for my sisters yougest daughters christening. She asked me for them this morning and said she would like to have them in the post this weekend as the chrsitening is 24th May. I am going to be busy at some point.

1st Gorguss Girl

I have been looking at these stamps in the Co Crafts Gallery for a while as members have been posting some fantastic cards using them. Last weekend I was telling OH about them and he said I should get some. I wanted the one sitting sideways (hope you know what I meany by that description) she was sold out so I had this one and 'a little bird told me', which I have yet to use.

Anyway here is my fiorst gorguss girl:

I stampedon white linen card and cut around her, coloured with whispers brush markers. Stuck her onto a nestie scalloped circle, which I added a tiny bit of chalk to the edges of.
Coloured stirps at bottom have been cut using fiskars threading water punch in three colurs to match my girl. I put her to the side of the card then had a large white space to fill so I cut paper flowers in the same papers as the bottom frills, some have been layered and sticky pearls added to the centres of them. First card with new nestabilities

Not been crafting much lately mostly due to being online blog surfing and do craft forum and gallery surfing LOL. I decided whilst looking at all the lovely cards everyone makes with nestabilites that I absolutely need some, so I ordered on Sunday and they arrived yesterday morning. This is the first card I have made using them and I am already wanting more shapes and sizes! Things like this are not good for poeple like me with very addictive natures!! LOL !!

Anyway I made this card for my friends who have recently had a baby girl (obviously) called Aimee, the name is so pretty I wanted the card to be too so here it is.

The image is a papermania Forever Friends Stamp, I stamped it on white card then on the pink and cut out the blanket on the pink stuck it onto the white. Coloured bear with whispers brush marker added to small scalloped circle with 3d foam,

Basic card has layers of K and Co paper from a stack I've had for a while, and white card which I have edged with Fiskars Threading water border punch. Organza ribbon accross the middle and a prima flower attached with pear brad.

Baby Girl

Not been very good with my blogging, since setting up I've had PC problems, been really busy with work etc.. I started with good intentions but this is looking more like a record for me of cards at the moment. I've so far not even shared this with anyone!!

Anyway this is tonights card:

A very quick card made tonight as have been asked by colleagues in the office to make it to pass around tomorrow for one of the team who's wife has given birth to a baby girl this week.

The image is PCCrafter belly button babies, which I printed and cut out. Stuck onto a piece of white card which has been embossed with my baby cuttlebug folder. matted and layered several times using pink pearl card, white card and silver mirror card. All put onto a hammered card blank (A5 size). Sentiment printed using PC matted and layered as main image. Pink satin bow added to embelish.

Another Clare Curd Signature Range stamp. Image coloured with whispers brush markers and a silver gel pen. T Shirt and Tool box stamped and coloured a second time cout out and decoupaged using silicone glue. Backing papers are free from a magazine they are supposed to be Christmas ones but I loved the colours and could see them with this stamp before I even started the card. Extra tools added were peel off's which have been in my stash for a long time. Rather than stick them to card and colour them, I have done a bit of paper piecing with them and used various texture and colout papers stuck to the back of them, took a long time but I like it better than colouring them. Unfortunately the pic does not pick it up well.

Buttons just matched the colours and filled the gap I had at the top of the card.

Clare Curd Signature Range Stamps

I am loving the Clare curd Signature range at the moment, I bought the mens and chic sets last Friday afternoon and have so far managed to make 4 cards, they are very inspiring and there are lots of things I want to try out with them as soon as I get the time.

Limeade Girly

I coloured this one with Whispers Brush markers, matted and layered on black card and summer driggs limeade papers available here. I don't yet own any nestabilities so I hand cut the wavy square using my wave scissors (that's why it's not quite perfect).
I put a piece of black satin ribbon accross the middle of the card just to break up the background which I think worked.
Large green and black prima flowers and a small green one layered up with a black pearl gem in the centre.
